Death Flowers.

A visual analysis of the infamous crime scene photograph showing Nicole Brown Simpson's body lying among the plants outside her home led me to create this series. Nicole was brutally murdered on her doorstep — most likely by her ex-husband, O.J. Simpson.

The last thing Nicole saw, I imagine, were the flickering leaves brushing against the pathway where her face lay. That intersection — between violence and tenderness, between death and nature — has never left me.

This series transforms flowers into memorial columns, honoring women murdered by men they knew intimately: husbands, ex-husbands, boyfriends, jealous exes, brothers. Each flower becomes a monument to a life cut short by intimate violence.
